Taking two road trips with Vincent Backhaus, a PhD candidate at Cambridge and fellow Charlie Perkins Trust Scholar [was the favourite moment of my first term in the UK]. We travelled to Oxford University to see Professor Tom Calma and to Nottingham University to see Professor Audra Simpson. The conversations had in the 8+ hours we spent in a car were incredibly fruitful and energising. |

I was lucky to have a few wonderful moments this term [2019 Easter] - I went to Australia on an Aurora Internship to work with Yirra Yaakin and successfully sat my PhD upgrade viva. My upgrade was more like an excited chat between three people, myself, my adviser and my examiner and while it went for longer than average it was a conversation that could have easily continued.
