ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Charlie Perkins Scholarship is directed towards Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Australians who have the potential to become leaders in their field of study and in their communities. The postgraduate study must be undertaken full time in the United Kingdom.

A panel of prominent Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, together with a representative of the British Government and Cambridge Australia Scholarships, select the Charlie Perkins Scholars each year.

Our Scholars are some of the most extraordinary examples of Australia's Indigenous education achievement.  And this is about a new generation of skills to support transformative successes in our community.
- Professor Tom Calma AO
