2017 Aurora Study Tour
I have found my college to be a very important part of my experience, more so than I had expected.  The beauty of Balliol is how tightly knit the graduate community is.  I have found this to be a huge support, particularly while settling in and adjusting to life in Oxford.  The pre-existing relationship that Aurora has with the college has proven to be highly useful, including but not limited to the existing scholars who are also at Balliol.  There is a wonderful sense of community that makes even the difficult weeks of study much easier.
Geoffrey, a Gamilaroi man from Richmond, has completed a Master of Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government and Balliol College, Oxford as a 2018 Charlie Perkins scholar.

Geoffrey also holds a combined Bachelor of Arts (Honours)/Law from the University of Sydney.

Prior to Oxford, Geoffrey was a director and lawyer at Chalk & Behrendt, Lawyers and Consultants, as well as a board member for the NSW Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network.  He is a council member for the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS).  Geoffrey aspires to serve the community through an active career in public policy and politics.

I wanted to thank Aurora and the staff for being so supportive and responsive over the past term.  I know a lot of people at Oxford who have low to no support from their funding bodies and my experiences could not be more contrasted. It has been a huge help in getting to the finish line.
