Kasarina is of Mbarbarum, Kuku Yalanji, Yidinji and Gugu Yimidthirr descent. She is completing a MSc in Clinical Embryology at Jesus College, Oxford as a 2019 Charlie Perkins Scholar.
She holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Psychology) from the University of Sydney where she was the recipient of the Dr Charles Perkins AO Memorial Prize. Kasarina also received the Annual USYD Scholarship for Distinction and the Australia Rotary Health Annual Scholarship for Health during her degree. She interned at the Walter & Eliza Hall Health Institute of Medical Research and in the Corporate and International team at BUPA. Her last role was as a support worker at Multicultural (Dis)Ability Services.
Kasarina aspires to take the knowledge and skills from her studies home and support rural communities in Cape York.
